Shipping Guidelines (Effective February 2024)

Shipping Handguns.

We can ship handguns with USPS, but they must be sent from Federal Firearms License (FFL) holder to another FFL holder. (Us)

It's highly recommended to use Registered mail. When using Registered mail, use paper craft tape on all seals for ink stamp confirmation of no tampering. When using Registered mail, the shipper must fill out Form 3806 "Registered Mail Receipt".

When shipping with USPS Form 1508 "Statement by Shipper of Firearms" will need to be used, marking it with "HANDGUN" for shipping handguns/revolvers.

The box will need to be endorsed with "Return Service Requested" and be trackable and require a signature upon delivery.

These regulations have been confirmed with our main USPS hub.

USPS Publication 52 - Hazardous, Restricted, and Perishable Mail > 4 Restricted Matter > 43 Firearms > 432 Mailability

ATF: May a licensee mail handguns through the U.S. Postal Service?

Statement by Shipper of Firearms: USPS Form 1508

Registered Mail Receipt: USPS Form 3806

Shipping Rifles/Shotguns

Shipping rifles and shotguns is less restricted than shipping handguns.

According to USPS:

  • Licensed FFL dealers, manufacturers, or importers can mail rifles and shotguns to each other without restrictions.

  • Non-FFL owners can mail rifles and shotguns domestically to FFL dealers, manufacturers, or importers in any state.

Owners can ship their firearm themselves or use an FFL if preferred. Registered mail is highly recommended. When using Registered mail, use paper craft tape on all seals for ink stamp confirmation of no tampering. Use Form 3806 “Registered Mail Receipt”. Use Form 1508 “Statement by Shipper of Firearms” for shipping if using an FFL. The box must have a “Return Service Requested” endorsement and be trackable and require a signature.

We personally confirmed these regulations with our main USPS hub.
